Burns Memorial Gardens in Alloway, near Ayr, are beautiful, free-to-enter grounds surrounding the historic Burns Monument, featuring roses and statues of some of Burns characters . The garden is well maintained by the Nation Trust. You can also visit the iconic Brig o' Doon, a medieval, single-arched cobblestone bridge over the River Doon, famously featured in Robert Burns' poem Tam o' Shanter as the escape point from the witches.
Burns night is celebrated on the 25th of January.
